CDN & Image CDN's Are?

We have been receiving a growing number of questions recently regarding CDN (Content Delivery Network), mostly revolving around "What are they?" and "When should I use one?".

Other common areas have been what is the difference between a CDN and a Image CDN?, also some CDN's offer image transformations along with automatic optimization but how does it all work together?, and what should I do if my services are costing too much?

Over the next few months we plan to release a new CDN section that answers these questions about CDN's and Image CDN's with a focus on the use of images within a website. If you are looking for information on CDN's but have a more focussed question you would like to see the answer to, ask us and we will see if we can include the answers along the way.

ImgFunction CDN

ImgFunction CDN has grown from a single Node.js script into many, along with Cloud functions and a Cloud CDN that we use for our in-house projects, plus some of the managed services at JasmineDesign.

After years of hosting these scripts on our local development servers and in the Cloud, we are really keen to release a service plus tooling online that's available to all.

However we are still looking at how best to do this whilst being able to deliver a level of support that we would want if we where using this service ourselves. Hopefully we will have more to share soon.
